Frequently asked questions about sliding doors
Contemporary, slimline, functional and durable, our trade supply bifold doors are the perfect low maintenance solution to enhance any project. Find some answers to some frequently asked questions about sliding doors below:
What are the advantages of aluminium sliding doors?
Compared to PVCu and timber sliding doors, aluminium sliding doors are slimmer, come with larger panel sizes, offer several track options and create special designs such as fixed or open corners. Aluminium is widely regarded as the best material for sliding doors.
What are the disadvantages of having a sliding door?
A sliding door always needs somewhere to park open. Therefore, you don’t get the full available opening like you you do with a bifolding door. A two panel door takes up around half the available opening. A three panel door takes up two-thirds or one-third with a triple track.
How do you provide your trade supply sliding doors?
Because sliding doors can come in larger sizes and complete panels, compared to hinged doors or bifold doors, every order varies. Transport sizes permitting doors come fully fabricated and assembled. Contact us for more information about sliding doors for wider or taller structural openings.
What is the biggest sliding door you can do?
Our Reynaers sliding doors come in several models, capable of three metres wide or three metres high with some models. Others are limited only by the size of the glass. Contact us for technical information and advice if your project requires oversize sliding patio doors.
Are sliding doors heavy?
The sophisticated rollers we use in our sliding doors makes even the heaviest panels easy to open with a smooth sliding action. The lift and slide version is also recommended for large sliding doors and is available with the Reynaers CP130 and CP155 models.
