We had the pleasure of working on this stunning project in Broadstairs using Senior Architectural curtain walling with windows and residential doors from the same system. C&A Window Systems Ltd manufactured bespoke Senior glazing for Woven – a completely new 6-bedroom home by Giles and Sarah-Jane, designed to take you back to nature.

Project Brief:
The client brief relating to this project was designing glazing to blend and enhance the surrounding landscape, already rich with texture, thanks to the towering trees around the plot. As a result, Giles and Sarah Jane decided that the house should have a simple structure to avoid obstructing the views. C & A Window Systems were brought on board to manufacture and install a glazing system that allowed the best possible visibility through the glazing, allowing the outside to be enjoyed to its full potential.
The solution was Senior Architectural System’s SF52 curtain walling, Alifold Doors and SPW600 casement windows.
SF52, Senior Architectural Curtain Walling
Tried and tested, highly specified in buildings throughout the UK, and equally impressive in a residential setting. The SF52 Curtain walling system is slim, strong, and has flatline styling throughout, ideal as ultra-modern glazing and perfect for this property style.
The advantage of using curtain walling where large picture or floor-to-ceiling picture windows are required is the consistent frame sightlines to the outer frame and mullions. Better than using conventional fixed casement windows, the curtain walling comes with identical 52mm face sightlines to the front and back faces of the glazing throughout. Combined with the strong and insulated mullions, the entire window appearance is balanced, symmetrical and works perfectly with the overall rectangular styling of the raised living and dining space. An excellent solution for this outstanding design, the advantage of using curtain walling for residential properties is creating glass panels that are taller and wider than using a window system.
Senior Alifold Residential Doors
Senior Architectural curtain walling also integrates perfectly where doors are required and the Alifold residential door system was used to create tall, fully glazed doors leading out to the stunning garden and natural landscape.
Alifold doors are thermally insulated, slim in appearance, and also come with impressive size capability of up to more than 2.6m high. Premium aluminium with a durable powder-coated finish, multipoint locking system, attractive door handles, and high-specification safety glass, complete the doors. Designed as fully-glazed doors, opening outwards and with a reduced stepover at the threshold, the doors blend in with the overall design of the property and in a matching colour finish.
SPW600 Casement Windows
Senior Architectural SPW600 aluminium windows provide the required window ventilation with impressive design and performance. Highly insulated aluminium windows, come in an open outwards design, fitted with multipoint espagnolette locks, internal glazing beads, stylish and reliable window handles and colour-matched to the Senior Architectural curtain walling and residential doors.
